Fujian University of Technology is located in Fuzhou, a famous historical and cultural city known as the gateway to the maritime Silk Road. The school began in the late Qing Dynasty in the late Qing Dynasty in 1896, famous sages famous men Chen Bi, Sun Baojin, Li Jun, the famous min gentry Lin Shu, the last emperor Chen Baochen set up the "Cang Xia delicate house", first opened the new style of education in modern Fuzhou. In the long run of school, the development of school is synchronized with the development of the times, and is linked to the destiny of the nation. In 1908, industrial education began to be held. The two section of railway and telegraph was set up. "Fujian high work", a famous "high worker" before liberation, was a banner of Vocational Education in Fujian and even the whole country. In 1953, the school was divided into the Fuzhou Industrial School of the Ministry of light industry and the school of Fuzhou construction engineering. After that, the two schools were easily named. In 2000, the Fujian advanced industrial specialized school and the Fujian China Vocational University, which was founded in 1985, merged and formed the Career Technical College in Fujian. In 2002, Fujian Construction College merged with Career Technical College in Fujian and upgraded to Fujian University of Technology. In 2013, it was approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council as the authorized unit of master degree and was designated as the key construction university in Fujian province.
